Terms of Use

Orbit SI, by Fort Detroit Logistics LLC · Effective October 20, 2026

The short version. Keep your eyes on the road and follow the law and the signs you see. Orbit's directions, alerts and suggestions are guidance, not guarantees. Subscriptions are through Apple and you can cancel anytime.

1. Agreement

These terms are between you and Fort Detroit Logistics LLC, a Michigan limited liability company that makes the Orbit SI app ("Orbit", "we", "us"). By using Orbit you agree to them and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle your information. You must be 13 or older to use Orbit Family and to create an account.

2. Drive safely

Set your destination before you drive, and don't handle your phone while moving. Always obey traffic laws, posted signs, signals and the directions of officers, and use your own judgment: road conditions, closures, speed limits and hazards can differ from what Orbit shows. Don't use Orbit in a way that distracts you from driving safely.

3. Directions, alerts and information

Orbit's maps, routes, arrival times, speed limits, weather, traffic, hazards, prices, opening hours and place details come from many sources, including other drivers and public data. They can be incomplete, delayed or wrong. Orbit doesn't guarantee that a route is safe, legal, open or suitable for your vehicle (including height, weight or towing limits).

4. Safety suggestions, including Orbit Halo

Some Orbit features suggest where to stop or which way to go. Orbit Halo uses public crime statistics to mark areas, and the stops in them, where extra care may help, and facts about places (such as opening hours) to help you choose. Crime can happen anywhere, at any time. Halo is only a suggestion: it doesn't guarantee your safety or anyone's, and it isn't a statement that any place, business, area or neighborhood is safe or unsafe. A place without the halo, or an area where Halo is on, says nothing about the people or businesses there. The statistics behind Halo can be incomplete, out of date or not available for some areas. Use your own judgment, and in an emergency call 911 (or your local emergency number).

Crash alerts can miss a crash or alert when there wasn't one, and they aren't an emergency service: Orbit doesn't contact emergency services for you.

5. Subscriptions

Orbit Pro and Orbit Family are monthly subscriptions bought through your Apple ID. A free trial, if offered, becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Subscriptions renew until you cancel in iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions; refunds are handled by Apple. Deleting your Orbit account doesn't cancel a subscription.

Launch list referral offer. If you join the Orbit launch list and someone joins it from your share link before Orbit launches on the App Store, you and they each get a code for one free month of Orbit Pro, sent in the launch email. You redeem it in the App Store; after the free month, Orbit Pro is $4.99 a month and renews until you cancel, as above (cancel at least 24 hours before the month ends to avoid being charged). One free month per person and Apple ID, for people new to Orbit Pro; Apple's offer code terms apply, and a code must be redeemed by the date shown in the email. Sign-ups that look automated or made up don't count. We may end the offer for new referrals at any time; codes already earned stay good.

6. What you share

Reports, ratings, photos, map fixes and feedback you send must be honest and lawful, and must not harass or expose anyone. You give Orbit permission to use, show and improve them in Orbit. We may remove anything that breaks these terms. Don't misuse Orbit: no scraping, reverse engineering, interfering with the service or using it to track someone without their consent.

7. No warranty

Orbit is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that Orbit will be accurate, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose.

8. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Fort Detroit Logistics LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss, injury or damage arising from your use of Orbit's directions, alerts or suggestions, including Orbit Halo. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Orbit in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

9. Changes and the law

We may update these terms; we'll change the date above and tell you in the app if a change is significant. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
