Orbit SI vs Apple Maps: an honest comparison.

Apple Maps is built into every iPhone and CarPlay, and it gets better every year. Orbit SI adds what it doesn't do: the weather where you'll be when you get there, your family on the map you drive with, and a crash alert that tells them where you are.

Questions

Orbit vs Apple Maps: common questions

Is Orbit SI free like Apple Maps?

Yes. Turn-by-turn, CarPlay, live traffic, speed limits, crash alert, Ride and every safety alert are free. Orbit Pro ($4.99 a month) adds weather by arrival time, storm dodge, smarter answers, flight and train alerts and EV road trips.

Does Orbit replace iPhone Crash Detection?

Can I use Orbit and Apple Maps together?

Yes. Both work on CarPlay, so you can pick Orbit on the days the weather matters and switch back any time.

Where does Orbit's weather come from?

Apple Weather for forecasts and conditions, and the National Weather Service for official alerts like fog, flood and winter storm warnings.
