Weather along your route, by the time you get there.
A weather app tells you the weather where you are. Orbit tells you the weather where you'll be: every stretch of your drive, at the time you reach it, with rain and storms called out before you're in them.
The weather banner and radar are free. Weather by arrival time and storm dodge come with Orbit Pro, $4.99 a month, with a 14-day free trial.

Weather: common questions
How is this different from a weather app?
A weather app forecasts one place. Orbit forecasts your drive: it splits the route into stretches and shows each one at the time you'll reach it, so rain an hour down the road shows up as rain at mile 40, not "60% chance today".
Does it work on CarPlay?
Yes. The weather banner and radar are on your car's screen, and Orbit speaks up when weather is coming on your route.
Where does the weather come from?
Apple Weather for forecasts and conditions, and the National Weather Service for official alerts like fog, flood and winter storm warnings.
Will it tell me to leave later?
When leaving a little later would miss a storm on your route, Orbit says so before you go, with the time to leave.
Will Orbit warn me about icy roads?
Yes, and it's free. Orbit looks at the road surface itself along your drive, for the time you'll be there: dry, wet, slush, snow or ice, and the road's temperature. Before you go, the route card says where (Icy bridges from mile 38, around 8:10 PM). Driving, a slim strip under the turn banner counts down to it (Icy bridge in 2 mi), Orbit says it once, and CarPlay shows it too. Standing water, floods, fog, blowing snow and wildfire smoke get the same heads-up. Bridges freeze first, so they get a closer look.
